Assisted living communities in Maryland provide different levels of care to ensure residents receive the appropriate support based on their health, mobility, and daily living needs. These care levels help families understand the type of assistance available as a resident’s needs change over time. By offering flexible support, assisted living homes can provide services that balance independence with necessary care.
AGAPE LIVING LLC is licensed to provide care up to Level Three, allowing our team to support residents with varying levels of assistance while helping them maintain comfort, dignity, and safety in our assisted living home.
Level One: Low Level of Care
Residents at this level typically remain independent but may benefit from occasional assistance with certain daily activities. The focus is on providing supportive services while allowing residents to maintain their regular routines.
- Support Services: Minimal help with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Health Management: Occasional reminders or assistance with medication routines.
- Independence: Residents are generally able to manage most daily tasks on their own.
Level Two: Moderate Level of Care
This level of care is designed for residents who require more consistent assistance with daily routines and health management. Support services are provided more frequently to ensure comfort, safety, and stability.
- Increased Assistance: Regular help with ADLs and personal care activities.
- Medication Management: Ongoing support with medication reminders and administration.
- Health Monitoring: Assistance for residents managing chronic health conditions, without the need for continuous medical supervision.
Level Three: High Level of Care
Level three care provides a greater level of assistance for residents with more complex physical or cognitive needs. Caregivers provide close supervision and extensive support throughout the day.
- Comprehensive Support: Significant help with most or all ADLs, including toileting and transferring.
- Continuous Supervision: Increased monitoring for residents with mobility challenges or cognitive impairments.
- Advanced Care Support: Assistance with complex health needs and ongoing care coordination.
